Children's
Ministry

Where adults and youth pour into the lives of our kids — shaping their first impressions of Jesus and walking with them as their faith grows.

"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me."

— Mark 9:37
Our Mission

First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale creates spaces of Christ-centered connection and inspires people of all ages to explore faith in open and honest ways, cultivating possibilities for growth and transformation.

Every Sunday Morning

How Sunday Morning Works

Every Sunday morning in the Neumann Center, families are welcomed, children are known by name, and the Bible comes to life through worship, story, and small-group community.

1

Welcome

Families arrive at the Neumann Center. Check-In matches kids and parents with secure tags so every child is safe and every parent is connected.

2

Worship

Kids gather for high-energy music, prayer, and the Bible story told in a creative, attention-gripping way designed to capture their hearts.

3

Walk Alongside

Small Groups break out so kids connect with the same leader and friends week to week — where faith gets personal and kids are known by name.

Ways to Serve

Most roles run on a one-month-on, one-month-off rhythm. Every volunteer receives training, curriculum, and a coach. You'll never be thrown in cold.

Large Group

Worship, story & energy

Both Preschool and Elementary gather for high-energy Large Group. This is the on-stage team that makes worship, prayer, and the Bible story come alive.

  • Host Emcee of Large Group. Welcomes kids, drives the Bottom Line, and dismisses to Small Groups.
  • Storyteller Presents the Bible story in a creative, attention-gripping way.
  • Worship Leader Leads kids and leaders in meaningful worship through music and energy.
  • Tech Team Audio, video, and ProPresenter graphics — keeps the on-stage team looking and sounding great.

Small Group

Relationships that last

The Small Group team builds Christ-centered community with the same kids week after week. This is where the Bible story gets personal — where kids are known by name, prayed for, and walked alongside.

Small Group Leader. Lead a consistent group of 8–10 elementary kids (or up to 8 preschoolers) through Social, Bible Story Review, Application, Memory Verse, and Prayer.

Same kids, same leader, every week you're on — that consistency is the heart of the morning.

What We Teach

Preschool uses First Look — three Basic Truths: God made me, God loves me, Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Elementary uses 252 Kids — three Basic Truths: I need to make the wise choice. I can trust God no matter what. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Partnering with Parents

Each week families go home with Parent Cue (Elementary) or Small Talk (Preschool) — devotionals, prayers, and conversation starters tied to that Sunday's Bottom Line.

Training & Support

Every volunteer gets training, scripts and curriculum, a coach to walk alongside them, and a clear monthly schedule. You'll never be thrown in cold.

The Impact

Why Serve?

40 hrs

Church sees kids

On average, churches see kids 40 hours a year. We make every minute count toward shaping lasting faith.

3,000 hrs

Parents see kids

We partner with families to leverage both — so kids can be astonished by Jesus at church and at home.

1 on / 1 off

Sustainable rhythm

Serve fully when you're on, rest fully when you're off — a schedule designed to last.
